The Printmaking facilities house four etching presses, two large lithographic printing presses, three letter presses, type cases, and screen printing rooms with exposure units and dark room. Course experiences begin at the 200 level and continue into senior and graduate level work that consists of independent study classes and special topics (recently, «Monotype Workshop» and «Printmaking: Art as a Social Statement»).
In your fourth year, you can choose to take Open Studio Thesis, which allows you to concentrate on developing an independent studio practice, completing a major body of work and support paper. As a result of this dynamic interactive environment, Printmaking provides a context for students to develop as proficient, independent and inquisitive artists. Students are exposed to contemporary approaches utilizing printmaking techniques for the development of ideas and art on and off paper.
The techniques we’ve covered so far — measuring, trimming, gluing, and rolling — all apply here. As with the album/book option, the process uses the same techniques we covered in earlier sections. Use regular Mod Podge on most areas, and add the glitter variation of this sealant to one or two sections to add nuance. When using spray-on Mod Podge, or any other spray-on sealant, hold the can about 3-4 inches away from the painting and spray in short, even spurts to ensure that all areas are covered.
Mod Podge: A varnish-like glue sealant that coats and seals the surface of the painting. Another method you can use is to glue the painting inside the frame so it doesn’t shift out of place. Trim the canvas to its Diamond Painting edge, trim the board to the matching dimensions, and glue the diamond painting to the backer board. Mark two inches on the back side of the Diamond Painting Deutschland painting with a marker or fabric pen, then cut away all but the two-inch overhang using your craft trimming tools.
You can trim it to be exactly sized to the edge of the bejeweled section of your 5D Diamond Painting Australia painting, in which case you may find a craft knife, ruler, and cutting mat to be useful. Can you spray paint a cardboard box? For a budget option, consider pasting your completed diamond painting to foamboard or heavy-duty cardboard. The foamboard (with the diamond painting attached) can be hung using Velcro sticky strips, adhesive, masking tape (for lighter paintings), or thumbtacks.
Clean the Painting With a Hairdryer: Diamond Painting Before applying the sealant, use a hairdryer on the lowest power and temperature settings to blow cool air over the painting, removing any dust particles trapped in the gaps and grooves. It’s going to cost more, as you might expect, but you might be happier with the professional look and the perfect fit you get when they are finished.
