Barcelona President Joan Laporta did not travel to Qatar to talk with Al-leadership Sadd’s over the transfer of Xavi, the Qatari team’s head coach, according to Marca.
According to the source, two Catalan club executives attended the meeting, which took the form of a meal.
It was noted that Laporta’s actions had a negative impact on the negotiation process.
The clubs will convene their last meeting on November 4th, at which they will make a final decision on Xavi’s future.
Xavi is a graduate of the University of Barcelona. The Spaniard was a part of the Catalan club’s first team from 1997 until 2015. In 2015, he moved to Al-Sadd and homepage coached for four seasons until quitting as head coach in 2019.
