The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (FHR) on its official website announced its decision to appoint Alexei Zhamnov as the head coach of the Russian national team.
On February 27, an expert council of authoritative representatives of hockey took place to agree on the candidacy of the head coach. It was held with the participation of Vladislav Tretyak, Boris Mikhailov, Valery Kamensky, Alexey Zhamnov and website Pavel Bure.
Oleg Znarok and Valery Bragin will join the team’s headquarters as consultants.
Russian hockey fans in the comments were surprised at the appointment of Zhamnov, not Znark.
