I’ve been meaning to say this for Diamond Painting Nederland a while, but it’s been hard because this veers close to some very personal topics. I tried networking with folks, including a full professor at MIT who was presenting some work that was very close to one of the things I’d been working on, but I was given a pretty bad brush-off, and this felt devastating. But everything felt very isolating and it was difficult to make forward progress on things, because instead of being given the authority and autonomy to move forward on the work I wanted to do, I was saddled with legacy code and legacy design decisions, and «agile» processes which were anything but.
